Three Places To Eat In San Diego That Won’t Ruin Your Weight Loss Goals
As we know, San Diego likes to stay classy. With beautiful beaches, great beer, it’s only right that America’s finest city has some of the healthiest food options in America. Not only that, but we are one of the most active cities also, and we like to stay fit year round. Here are 3 restaurants that locals and travelers NEED to visit because the food is delicious and nutritious.
Tender Greens is a great place to have lunch or dinner. With four locations around San Diego county, this is a fast food style restaurant that fits a busy lifestyle and a delicious menu to boot. Here’s a bit about their food philosophy “Our restaurants serve fresh, healthy, chef-inspired, farmer's market sensible dishes at an affordable price in a relaxed environment. By working with small local farmers, ranchers, artisans, boutique wineries, breweries and coffee roasters, we are able to provide the best quality ingredients and products for our guests.” If you like fast food that is nutritious, visit one of their 4 locations.
True Food Kitchen
This restaurant is located in Fashion Valley Mall and I am happy that we have the option to dine here. When it comes to nutritious food with people that may have food allergies or can’t have certain food items, I find this place may be the perfect restaurant. Here is a bit about their food philosophy “The basis for the anti-inflammatory diet isn’t meant to deprive a healthy body of great flavors, it’s meant to take popular trends in cuisine and pair them with healthy living.” I’ve been here a couple of times and when I have guests that want to eat good food that is healthy, this is one of my go to spots. You can dine here from breakfast to dinner, and the wait staff is always very professional and very good.
Fish Pit Sushi
This list would not be complete without tacos. Not only very delicious tacos, but healthy and a great price for the quality you are getting. Nestled in by San Diego State, this little shop packs a mean punch of flavors that meld together perfectly from first to last bite. Here’s a bit about the food philosophy (from their website):
“In changing our customer’s minds about quality and freshness in seafood without paying astronomical prices. We pride ourselves on serving high quality sustainable foods in all biodegradable eco-friendly packaging, so that we can continue to have beautiful waters gleaming with healthy fish. We believe in supporting local line-catching fisherman. A practice that ensures that we serve the freshest seafood the Pacific has to offer while preserving fish populations and clean water for generations to come.” If you are looking for a great seafood taco along with other great options, you must come visit.
These are the 3 places that I know locals or travelers will enjoy. With the San Diego food scene always striving to be better, we are the lucky ones who get to enjoy creative and healthy options.
